Thank you to all who joined us with Platte Valley Christian Center for their Super Bowl Fellowship Sunday night. We had a great turn out with 4 churches represented. The chili cook-off was great with 7 types of very good chili from which our 8 judges chose winners. The half-time prayer time was wonderful and the entire evening was a fun and relaxing time. Thank you Pastor Gene for inviting all of us. We hope to do this again in the future.

We will be joining our brothers & sisters in Christ at Platte Valley Christian Center
(one block down from our church) for a great time of fellowship. There will be a chili cookoff, snacks, watching the game, and just great fun. Fellowship begins at 4pm and we'll eat about 6pm following the judging.

Thank you all for coming to the War Room movie Sunday night.
We had 16 in attendance (4 churches represented). It was great time of
fellowship and prayer together. May it motivate us to pray more fervently
and purposefully in our lives and the lives of our churches. It was great
have the Family of God together it was a great encouragement and support
for everyone. For Bible Study resources, you can order from Lifeway at

We also did very well with our special Christmas Eve offering for Baptist Global Response. We collected $80.00 (our goal: $50 for 1 food package).
This gift will provide 1 food package plus 3 blankets to Syrian Refugee families through Baptist Global Response. Thank you always for your generous hearts to help those in need around the world.

At our last business meeting I learned that our giving to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering increased. The final total for giving was: $410 that's 75% of our goal
of $550. Praise the Lord! Each year we continue to do well with our missions giving. It makes me proud to serve as your pastor and is a testimony of your heart for missions.

The last Sunday of January, we will be showing the movie: War Room at 6pm.
Bring a snack and invite someone. It is a dynamic movie on the power of prayer. The Kendrick Brothers did another knockout job. Our church completed the 8 week Bible Study based on the film but the study doesn't end, because prayer never ends. If you don't have a target for prayer to keep you focused in your intercession, then I highly recommend this for your church or small group.
The goal of the study is to develop a personal plan of prayer for your life.

Thank you all for your great comments about our outreach at the Ice Fishing Derby last January. It was a great experience for all of us. However, this year we will not be able to provide the hospitality tent. We've taken a sabbatical from events for awhile as we pray, evaluate, and see what the Lord wants us to do in the future. If any of you are in the area or participating in the Ice Fishing Derby, we welcome you to join us for services on Sunday morning 11:00 am.
May God richly bless your life, seek Him and all things are possible.

Sat., Aug. 29th was a historic day for our region. We had our first official meeting as the South Region of the Wyoming Southern Baptist Convention in Hanna, WY. Our region encompasses from Rock Springs to Cheyenne along the I-80 corridor. The 3 former associations (Green River, Energy Basin, & Frontier) are all now one regional association.
All messengers present representing 10 churches, voted in new officers, new budget, new signers for the bank account, new Executive Board, and new Constitution and By-Laws. We also recommended a short list of calendar items for the Executive Board to consider.
Once the Constitution & By-Laws are approved by the Secretary of State then we will officially close the current bank account and reopen a new one under the new name.
Our Dir. of Missions is officially our Regional Missionary but is a state convention staff employee. The prayer and challenge is for our churches to step up and be involved to help out, and as always pray for our new leadership during this new, exciting, and challenging time.

We have the privilege this month to give to our local state mission work.
Our church goal is $500. Please pray how you would give to support our work here in Wyoming. Every dollar goes to support our ministries right here in Wyoming.
Here's just a sample of what our state mission offering supports:
College Ministries, Hispanic work, Church Planting, Mt. Top Assembly (our state camp), Leadership Training, Pastor Relocation expenses, Associational support for our Regional Missionaries to just to name a few. For more information, please visit our state convention website through the link on our website under "affiliations".

Last weekend I had the privilege of seeing the movie "War Room". What a powerful message on the power of prayer and its necessity in our lives.
If you haven't seen it, I highly urge you to do so.
Prayer is something we shouldn't take lightly. Prayer is the most effective weapon and we serious lack in our use of it. Therefore, inspired by the movie, I'm calling our church to a prayer emphasis this Fall.
What a great way to start off the new church year by focusing on prayer and earnestly seeking the Lord's will and direction.
I invite all who would like to participate on both Sunday and Wednesday nights.
The goal is to develop a Battle Plan for Prayer (book by the same title.)
This Bible Study and prayer time will begin this Sunday night at 6pm.
Wednesday's study and prayer time will be at 7pm.
